As a licensed Clinical Social Worker I have had over 45 years of clinical experience working with individuals, families, and couples. I have focused my practice in the following areas: marriage, family, and relationship counseling; issues around co-dependency; difficulties with emotional intimacy; issues surrounding trauma and abuse; sexual and relationship addiction; pornography addiction including cybersex addiction, and other addictive behaviors including alcohol, drugs, work, food, and gambling.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1968 and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the same University in 1971. I am a member of the International Employee Assistance Professionals Association. I have received advanced training in the treatment of sexual addiction and intimacy disorders from the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals and have been certified as a sex addiction therapist by this organization. I am also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
My philosophy in working with my patients is expressed in a quote by John Wesley-“Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can…, To all the people you can, For as long as you ever can.”
